When should you arrange a refill?

A useful refill plan considers both how much water you have and how long a delivery might take. Waiting for the tank to be nearly empty leaves less room for changes in demand or delivery timing.

Work backwards from your reserve date

Time to arrange a refill = days to reserve − supplier lead time

If your estimate gives 25 days to reserve and your supplier needs seven days, aim to arrange delivery within about 18 days. Allow additional time for uncertainty. Tankwise uses the lead time you enter; it does not check supplier availability.

Confirm your actual level

Check the tank before booking. A reading taken several weeks ago can only support an estimate. Increased use, leaks or missed rain can make the available water lower than expected.

Check the delivery will fit

Ask about the supplier’s minimum volume and confirm your available storage. Consider any expected rain before delivery. In the planner, water above tank capacity is counted as overflow; it is not carried forward as stored water.

Have these details ready

Keep a dry-weather alternative

Compare your rain scenario with the no-rain estimate. If your reserve is likely to be reached within the supplier’s lead time, contact the supplier promptly and check your actual supply. A scenario is a planning aid, not a booking or a guarantee.
