Elapsed time or paid work time?
This calculator measures the full time between two clock readings. For example, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM is 8 hours, even if you take lunch. To subtract an unpaid break, use the shift calculator.
What happens at midnight?
11:15 PM to 1:45 AM is 2 hours 30 minutes: 45 minutes before midnight plus 1 hour 45 minutes after it. Equal start and end times return zero. This tool assumes a span under 24 hours and does not adjust for time zones or daylight-saving changes.
